Hope everyone is getting excited about our first family mob and have registered yourself, your kids, and your whole crew. Can’t wait for June 11th? Our friend Corey at Wolfscratch Farm is getting ready to have a farm open house and would love some mobbers to come help him out getting the place in order. The farm’s in Jasper, less than an hour from Atlanta, so if you’re looking to get out of the city and breathe some clean farm air, give him a shout. You can contact owner Jamie Rosenthal at (770) 617-8403 or email farm manager Corey Deyette at cdeyette@yahoo.com. You can also get in touch with people through the Salacoa Co-op Facebook page.

The open house is on the 11th and the goal is to paint the barn, clean out barn stalls used for chicken breeding, put up deer fencing and general farm clean up/weeding. So any time you have before then to head out that way and help, he’d be psyched to see you. If there’s enough interest, we could try and arrange a small mob (pizza?) either Saturday or Sunday, but we know we’ve had a lot of last minute mobs and with it being summertime, a lot of you already have plans set in stone.

Can’t make it out to Wolfscratch in the next week or so but still want to help out? You’re in luck – and can even score some sweet veggies for your time. Wolfscratch has just had four worker shares open up. It’s basically a CSA you earn through work instead of cash; for 6 hours of work on the farm per week, you get half a CSA share. Plus, they’re pretty flexible and will work with your schedule to help you fit the work in, so be sure to check it out.

So be sure to get a hold of Corey, help out Wolfscratch Farm, and we’ll see you and your kin at our in-town mob on the 11th!
