A Mob takes Root in Athens

It’s here — the mob you have all been waiting for. Athens is ready to mob and Roots Farm was an easy choice for our the official launch. Roots is a short 10 miles from downtown Athens and has a long tradition of volunteers on their farm. Downtown Athens folks may know Roots best from the Saturday farmers market or from their CSA. There are 13 acres of beautiful, sustainably farmed land and this is your chance to get to know it first hand.

Our mission for the day: removal of old summer plantings and trellises, weeding strawberries, and weeding and mulching asparagus. Be advised this is the easiest mob we are ever likely to have so don’t miss it! The weather is cool and the pullin is easy. Destruction is always fun and the strawberry patch is a pleasant place to work.

Food will be prepared by P.L.A.C.E, and will consist of fresh farm goodies from Roots and donations from Earth Fare. At the end of our labors we will celebrate these darkest days around a bonfire as we feast (meal provided.) Please BYOB — though there will be cider.

Sign up quick, this mob has been eagerly anticipated. And you will want to be able to say you were there when.
