Back from Burge and Heading East West

Well, mobbers, we’re finally making it through the dog days of summer and soon our mobs will be full of autumn breezes. We were a bit worried our Burge mob would be full of thunderclouds and rain, but we lucked out: the rain blew through in the morning leaving the soil perfect for weeding (and leaving our mobbers covered in rust-red mud as a badge of their hard work). As always, our time at Burge was great, productive, and topped off with an unforgettable meal. Our huge thanks to Chef Thomas and Chef Andrew for their hard work and our DELICIOUS lunch. We’re already looking forward to next August!

Next up, we’re heading to East West Family Farm in Marietta. We first met Farmer Daniel when he joined us at a mob as he was getting his farm started in its first growing season. Now, we’re happy to join him and his family on September 15th to clear some property and fencing, mulch, plant, etc. There are also a few spots available if any of you would like to take part in chicken processing, as a few volunteers will be helping Daniel with that task in the morning. If you’re interested, please shoot me an email and we’ll fill the processing spots as we hear from you. Similarly, the property is not large, so if you’re very averse to potentially catching sight of chicken processing out of the corner of your eye, you might want to wait and join us at our October mob.

Plus, in case you need any more incentive to join us, we’ll be enjoying a delicious meal courtesy of Five Seasons Brewing. It’s going to be a great mob and we can’t wait to see you there. We’ve only got spots for 30 folks, so go ahead and get registered!
