The first Middle Georgia Crop Mob of the 2015-2016 school year is here! Debbie at Salamander Springs is preparing for the winter and for festivities and needs our help. Come out this Friday to get your hands dirty for a good cause!

If you want to stay for dinner after work on Friday, just bring a food contribution, and we will have some folks preparing food. Just need to know if you will be contributing and staying for dinner, so we know how many people to prepare for. If you want to camp on Friday night, you are welcome to. Just leave designated camping sites, cabins, or library rooms better than you found them.

Crop Mob Plans for Friday
Will need folks working in the following areas. We will meet at the garden, and if you have a preference of what you want to work on, we can accommodate you!

  • Area 1: Garden-weeding, mulching, general beautification, hauling weeds/mulch to chicken pens,
  • Area 2: Haunted Trail-trail clearing, writing plot (have a rough one with the main character), setting up haunted trail areas, need characters
  • Area 3: Trail Clearing-clearing trail from Six Roosters’ Bridge to Sacred Circle; from Sacred Circle to Perimeter Trail; walk Perimeter Trail and clear.
  • Area 4: Kitchen-organize, clean, general overhaul
  • Area 5: Library-organize, clean, general overhaul.
  • Area 6: Mow and weedeat.

Thanks to everyone who is willing to help us get Salamander Springs ready for our 20th anniversary on October 30th, 31st, and Nov. 1st. 20 years living on the land!! You are all invited; we have a big potluck/drum circle on the 31st, in addition to a Haunted Trail. Free camping; just bring your camping supplies, food, and snacks, musical instruments, a dish for the potluck.

Cost of admission to the Fall Gathering is a non-perishable food donation to the kitchen; items such as rice, canned goods, grains, quinoa, toilet paper, pasta, tomato sauces, nuts, chocolate-anything that the wwoofers could prepare in the outdoor kitchen; no pre-packaged foods please.
