Here are a few pretty exciting words: “Pop-Up Crop Mob & Happy Hour.” Need a few more? How about: “Permaculture Orchard Installation?” Seriously, if that doesn’t do it, I don’t even know who you are anymore…

It’s short notice, but this upcoming Saturday, we’re having – as you might have figured out – a mob at Decatur’s Kitchen Garden, a Global Growers project. You’ll be joining Atlanta’s fruit tree hero, Robby Astrove, install a small orchard laid out utilizing permaculture design principles.

So whether you want to learn how to plant fruit trees properly (take it from us, Robby’s got some pretty good tips for success on that front), take part in permaculture in action, help out a super cool nonprofit connecting international immigrant farmers to agriculture in Atlanta, or just want to enjoy the feel of spring headed our way, we need YOU this weekend!

The Details!
This mob will be held later than usual from 2:30-5:30. After that, we’ll all take our sweaty selves to an as-yet-undisclosed location (we’re waiting to hear back from some folks) for some happy hour refreshment.

How to get there:
Decatur’s Kitchen Garden (DKG) is located on the property of the United Methodist Children’s Home at 500 S. Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA

Pull in the main entrance in front of a brick building with white columns.  Go through the roundabout and to the right to park.  Look for the cluster of picnic tables – that’s where we’ll gather to walk down to the garden.

If you arrive late, the garden is all the way in the back of the property away from Columbia Drive.  Keep walking until you see the lake and a stone barn (past soccer fields and swimming pool).  The entrance to the garden is across from the stone barn.
